I've finished it. A very modest selvedge project and my first attempt at free motion quilting. Not the most elegant finish but not too bad for a beginner's effort. Next time I'll try layering the narrow strips rather than sewing them together as I think this would ensure a neater result. A benefit of the freemotion quilting is that it helps to mask imperfections!
Thanks so much for your comment. Go for it! The biggest thing was relaxing about where to go next. As soon as I panicked I created spikes rather than curves. I just need to keep practising.

I am so jealous of your free motion quilting. i have been so afraid to try --fear of breaking the needle really. Nice work, and i love the reusing of the selvages!
