A new purchase

We went to the Salvo Fair at Knebworth House yesterday. There were lots of things that could have made me part with some cash but unfortunately we don't have room for a potter's wheel or a swinging garden bed! However I did find something which I can make room for - this 1950's P&O teapot. I thought it was a bargain at £6. It's the perfect size for two cups of tea. Now I just need to keep a look out for matching cups and saucers!

Country Living Fair continued

Here are some pictures of my purchases.

Firstly a lovely storage cube from Dotty Designs. I'd like to get more of these!

Some vivid food boxes from Pinks and Greens. I have a bit of an addiction to this kind of thing. Hopefully Lena will like to use them for snacks when she's older. The colours are fantastic.

 

 

 

a day in the city

Today I visited the Country Living Fair. It was super busy but I still managed to enjoy myself in amongst the vast array of pretty things. Before going to the fair I had a wander down Camden Passage as it's a lovely area to browse in. I had to share the ice cream colours in this shop window (apologies but I've forgotten the name of the shop). Also try to ignore the reflection of me but I had to snap it really quick in order to avoid being in the way of other shoppers.

I'll post some pictures of my loot tomorrow but, until then, here is a list of my picks of the day (sorry I would have taken pictures but it was so busy it was impossible!):

ps  I saw some gorgeous ceramics (I have a serious weak spot for mugs and cups) but stupidly hesitated and now I can't find them on the exhibitor list. If anyone was there and saw the delicately coloured mugs and jugs which sported small creatures such as robins and mice please let me know who makes them!

weekend pleasures

• Strictly Come Dancing. I LOVE it. I'm full of admiration for them but unfortunately I have zero rhythm and a bit of a phobia of the dancefloor. I can't believe we've almost reached the end of this series. Saturday evenings won't be the same. If wishes were real I'd ask my fairy godmother to enable me to do this. Oh, to dance the Argentine Tango with Vincent!

• Cooking and baking. Today I'm going to make some of Nigella's spanish macaroons. I'll let you know how they turn out.

• Completing jobs. I finally finished one of the kitchen chairs before being rained off again. I'm really pleased with it. It looks much fresher.

• Appreciating being at home and seeing a little bit of sunshine. These are roses given to me by a friend. They lasted for ages and dried well.

• Reading magazines. The latest Easy Living magazine has a great supplement on stylish one off shops such as RE, Made in Hastings and Berry Red. Lots of fabulous Christmas gift ideas. RE is one of my all time favourite shops. It's so beautiful and full of things you suddenly feel you can't live without. I'm really lucky that I can visit when I go back to the homeland. I feel a bit excitable just looking at the picture.

• Looking at Christmassy inspiration to try to get into the December spirit such as this amazing advent calendar, An Angel at my Table's snowy white decor and Linaloo's beautiful advent calendar.
